I'm a new member to the Episcopal church and have wanted my own BCP. This ended up being everything I wanted it to be. It's about the same size as my travel bible so it is easy to bring along with me and the print isn't overly small until you get to the historical documents in the back. The only thing that would make it better would be a zippered binding to help preserve the pages but all in all, I am very pleased with it. It includes a section at the beginning for Baptism, Confirmation and Marriage and two bookmarks. It's a really beautiful book and the pictures really don't do it justice.

When I recently became a member of the Episcopal Church, I decided to purchase a personal copy of the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). I like everything about this wonderful book. It contains all of the Church’s liturgical prayers, including two rites of the Holy Eucharist, the Daily Office, and prayers for many special occasions. It also contains the complete Book of Psalms, and a list of Bible readings for every day of the year. I use my BCP primarily for my morning and evening prayers.My BCP measures about 7¾” x 5½ “x 1¾,” so it is a perfect size for me. It has a durable cloth-over-board hard cover that feels very solid in my hands. The binding appears to be sewn rather than glued, which makes it more durable and allows me to lay it flat when opened. The paper is smooth but not glossy, and of sufficient weight to make it reasonably wrinkle- and tear-resistant. The text is set in a font that’s very crisp, clear, and easy to read. The book’s page edges are not gilded, and there are no marker ribbons.I am very pleased with my new Book of Common Prayer. Although it is not a substitute for the Bible, which is the cornerstone of my Christian faith, it is a very useful guide for me in my daily prayer and meditation. Highly recommended.

I have two Kindle versions of the BCP, both the one by Episcopal Church and Christian Miracle Foundation Press (EC for short) as well as the one by Church Publishing (CP). I feel like they each have pros and cons, and I'm happy to have both. I'm placing this same review in both locations.I prefer the formatting in the CP; it's a bit cleaner. However, the EC includes the page numbers which, while it can be disruptive while reading, certainly helps me to find a particular page quickly.The Table of Contents in the CP is short and easy to navigate while the one in the EC is very long and takes forever to get through. So the CP TOC will get you to a general area of the book, while the EC TOC will get you to exactly the spot that you want. I don't use the TOC often because I just bookmark all the main spots that I want to get to quickly.One thing that I love about the EC is that in the Daily Office Lectionary, the Psalms readings are hyperlinked to the Psalter, making it very easy to move back and forth between the two sections of the book.Both books occasionally crash the Kindle app, but it does seem like the CP version does it more often.If I had to choose only one (which, realistically, I should have), it would be the EC version. I find that its pros outweigh its cons, and it's less than a third of the price of the CP version.

Paging is different than the original book, which creates problems. Page numbers are an important reference during the course of Episcopal servicces.

This book will be useful to Christians of many denominations especially those that celebrate Holy Communion (Eucharist) regularly and have traditional Christian observances like Ash Wednesday and the like. It is probably particularly appropriate for Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalian, Catholic, Orthodox and Anglicans. The majority of the book is or comes from scripture. Much of the language and material from the original book of Common Prayer in 1549 has obviously been updated although the original statements are included. Many of the prayers are particularly thoughtful---see Prayer for the Church # 7 page 816. The copy I received is nice quality blue leather, two ribbon markers, quality sewn binding and gold gilt page edge.

Perfect for my moments of quiet contemplation and prayer. As an Anglican, I was given a copy of 'The Book of Common Prayer' by my church's reverend at my confirmation at age 15, back in 1995. She had written a short prayer inside and I used and cherished that copy greatly over the years, even to this day. Although I still have it for sentimental reasons, I purchased this new copy because it has nice, larger print and can handle more daily use of wear and tear. I hope to continue to use both for decades to come, and hopefully, pass both on to any future children I may have.

For me, this is the only version of the 1979 BCP to own. Excellent binding, and the pages lie flat. Also, the print size is perfect for anyone of any age.

Terribly disappointed and hope to get my purchase price refunded. This ebook freezes frequently, and apparently the psalter is not available at all. Navigation system is next to worthless. It would have been so helpful to have, in order to lighten the load. Bah humbug.

I am treasurer of a small church, have an accounting background, and I have used quite a few different accounting software packages. While this book is fairly good, it is not updated for the current QuickBooks Online design which means you have to read the instructions in the book and then try to "translate" that into what you're actually seeing on the screen which may not be exactly as described in the book. So, the book may say "click on this button," but that button may no longer exist in the program, so you have to go looking for the new alternative. If this was just in one or two places, I wouldn't think twice about it, but it's pretty pervasive. The benefit of the book is that it does save you from having to figure out for yourself how to use QO for a non-profit (church). So, someone with some accounting and accounting software experience will probably be able to use this book successfully, but I am not sure someone without that background will be able to use this as well.

There ar not enough good books out there that really provide the tools to really help a non profit setup and maneuver through the complexities of quickbooks. It is frustrating to purchase books only to find out they don’t quite help you get the job done. This book is quite helpful, simple and an easy read for someone who does not have an accounting background.

I have found this book to be very helpful in organizing our non-profit. It will be helpful for the novice and business person that wishes to work the books in a non-profit. Helpful for the novice because it is simple to follow and gives ideas and reasons for good controls. The business person will learn the differences between business accounting and non-profits. Plus it is well laid out and easy to read. Thank you for this wonderful book, it is a real timesaver.

Very helpful, at first glance. Huge problem is that QBO updates constantly, so using a how-to book that is almost new is still out of date (screens depicted in book no longer match what you see on your monitor). That said, it's the best I've found for moving from old church software to QBO.

Detailed and informative about how to adjust QuickBooks for non profit. If a little dated. QuickBooks changes the online setup from time to time.

Don't even think about working with QuickBooks online for nonprofits without this book. This is especially true if you are setting up QuickBooks for the first time, transferring from the desktop version to the online version, or just generally new to using QuickBooks online for a nonprofit or church. I have the Kindle edition, so that I can open the book on the same computer I'm using for QuickBooks. The book isn't perfect, but it's indispensable. Some sections require re-reading more than once to understand. It would have been helpful if the authors walked the reader through some more examples. Combining the book with Google searches for specific QuickBooks questions helps a lot. Be sure to pay attention to the blue banners in the text... They contain critical information.

This book exceeded my expectations. It is my new "go to" reference guide for QBO. You will not be disappointed.

Hayek's "The Constitution of Liberty" is a comprehensive work of political philosophy. It sets forth, defends, and applies an important view of the nature of human liberty, government, and economics that is worth considering, at the least, and that has much to commend it. The book is carefully written and argued with extensive and substantive footnotes and with an "analytical table of contents" that is useful in following the details of the argument. The book is highly erudite. It is also passionately argued. Hayek believed he had an important message to convey.Hayek's states his theory in part I of this book, titled "The Value of Freedom". He seeks to explore the nature of the ideal of freedom (liberty) and to explain why this ideal is valuable and worth pursuing. He finds the nature of freedom in the absence of coercion on a person by another person or group. He argues that in giving the broadest scope of action to each individual, society will benefit in ways that cannot be forseen in advance or planned and each person will be allowed to develop his or her capacities. Hayek summarizes his views near the end of his book (p. 394):" [T]he ultimate aim of freedom is the enlargement of those capacities in which man surpasses his ancestors and to which each generation must endeavor to add its share -- its share in the growth of knowledge and the gradual advance of moral and aesthetic beliefs, where no superior must be allowed to enforce one set of views of what is right or good and where only further experience can decide what should prevail."The book focuses on issues of economic freedom and on the value of the competitive market. Hayek has been influenced by writers such as David Hume, Edmund Burke, and John Stuart Mill in "On Liberty."Part II of the book discusses the role of the State in preserving liberty. Each of the chapters is short and suggestive, rather than comprehensive. Hayek relies on technical economic analysis, and on his understanding of economic theory, as well as on his philosophical commitments, in his discussion. What is striking about Hayek's approach is his openness (sometimes to the point of possible inconsistency with his philosophical arguments). He tries in several of his chapters to show how various aspects of the modern welfare state present threats to liberty in the manner in which he has defined liberty. But he is much more favorably inclined to some aspects of these programs than are some people, and on occasion he waffles. This is the sign of a thoughtful mind, principled but undoctrinaire.I think there is much to be learned from Hayek. He probably deserves more of a hearing than he gets. For a nonspecialist returning to a book such as this after a long time off, it is good to think of other positions which differ from Hayek's in order to consider what he has to say and to place it in context. For example, in an essay called "Liberty and Liberalism" in his "Taking Rights Seriously" (1977) the American legal philosopher Ronald Dworkin discusses Mill's "On Liberty" with a reference to Hayek. Dworkin argues that for Mill, liberty meant not the absence of coercion but rather personal independence. Mill was distinguishing between personal rights and economic rights, according to Dworkin. Thus Dworkin would claim that Hayek overemphasizes the value of competitiveness and lack of state economic regulation in the development of Hayek's concept of liberty.The British political thinker Isaiah Berlin seems to suggest to me, as I read Hayek's argument, that there are other human goods in addition to liberty, as Hayek defines liberty. Further, Hayek does not establish that liberty, as he understands it, is always the ultimate human good to which others must give place. It may often be that good, but there may also be circumstances in which other goods should be given a more preeminent role when human well-being is at issue. In thinking about Hayek, it would also be useful to understand and to assess his concept of liberty by comparing and contrasting his approach to that of John Rawls in his "A Theory of Justice."Hayek's book is important, thought-provoking and valuable. Probably no writer of a book of political philosophy can be asked for more. It deserves to be read and pondered. It has much to teach, both where it may persuade the reader and where it encourages the reader to explore competing ideas.

Having read The Road to Serfdom ("TRTS") a number of times, I started reading Hayek's The Constitution of Liberty ("TCOL") in a library. Finally, less than a year ago, I bought my own copy and started reading it more thoroughly, taking laborious notes. It is a remarkable achievement of a great scholar of liberty who would probably anger most conservatives and liberals, if they read him and if he did not persuade them. This is not light reading. If you want easier, then read TRTS instead - at least start with it - because the purpose of TCOL is to explain the philosophy and need for liberty in exacting detail. If TRTS is a drawing of a house, then TCOL is the blueprint. Even taking notes on it is challenging because you feel there is almost nothing you can leave out. Every paragraph has a purpose and every sentence within each paragraph too. I found it Spinozan in its approach. The footnotes in TCOL, filled with quotes from Hume and Burke and many others, takes up a lot of the page, often most of it, and you could probably take up your whole life reading the famous and obscure authors he quotes too. But, do not skip them.Although TCOL was published in 1960 (containing his wonderful essay at the end - Why I am not a Conservative), it is timeless in its reach. Not only does it help you understand the need for liberty, but you see its relevance today in almost every political argument we now have - and have ever had.I recommend another book for libertarians or those interested in it which I think goes well with TCOL. Karl Popper's The Open Society and its Enemies shows how philosophers like Plato and Hegel gave sustenance to totalitarians and explains how trying to support an open society with historical (a broadly used term) authority is ultimately unworkable. It did not surprise me to learn that Popper and Hayek were friends. Both were born in Vienna, a few years apart, and some of their writing approaches the same problems from different angles - Popper from philosophy and Hayek from politics and economics.

Struck by the intellect of the man. I am what would be labeled as a classical liberal (seems to be a dead or dying way of thinking in recent years). I especially connected with the chapter... "Why I'm not a Conservative". I find myself in the same dilemma when expressing my views; "I am a conservative but I'm not a Republican" has been my go-to explanation (which is not totally satisfying, to myself or others). There is a taint to the term "libertarian" that also leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So...I am, what I am... a reasonable man living in a polarized society.

I think this is a great resource for parents and kids to talk about body image. It has a great message and the questions posed by the mother in the book can help promote discussions between parents and their kids. It seems to be made well, which will last through multiple children and discussions.

I am so excited about a book for children that educates about the harmful messages from the media. I haven't read the whole book yet but will be ordering it for my daughter. Regardless of how we look, or how we perceive ourselves, we need to teach our children that they can feel good about their bodies and themselves because they are much more than their 'appearance.' Confidence doesn't come from the outside, it comes from the inside--loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, and rejecting what the media deems to be 'beautiful.' We are bombarded with messages from ads, TV, social media all telling us that we aren't good enough, and that to be happy with ourselves we need to look a certain way. I am excited that this book will open the door to these important conversations.

This book along with the book for boys is a great way to talk to your children about body image issues, a topic that needs to be addressed but leaves parents wondering where to start. This book will help guide and empower you with the information that you need to have that conversation with your children. In a world that sends negative messages to your children about their bodies, we as parents need to give our children the right messages and this book will help you do that.

This is an excellent resource for parents to use to teach their children, specifically daughters, about body image. It shows how easy it is for girls to give into the peer pressure and how to help combat that. There’s a lot that parents can do to help their children have a better body image and this book helps children to understand how the world and how their friends might try to change them. Parents need to let their kids know that they are beautiful just the way they are. Definitely would recommend!

I thought this was an insightful book about how to teach young girls about body image. But I also felt that it was applicable to girls of all ages because it is an issue that we face every day, the issue of accepting ourselves the way we are and believing that we are beautiful without having to change anything. I especially liked how it gave suggestions of questions and activities that you could do with your daughter/niece/grand-daughter to help them understand how to accept and love who they really are and to not love the idea of what others want them to be.

Content is good, but publication quality is VERY poor. In fact, it looks like it was printed on a dot matrix printer with low quality paper. To add insult to injury, they even raised the price by 50% compared to previous versions, which were hard bound and professionally printed on good quality paper. Huge step down.

Just as the authors previous book "3G Evolution - HSPA and LTE for Mobile Broadband" is the Bible for 4G, this new book is the Bible for 5G. I was waiting for this book for long time, and it did not disappointed me once I received it and read through. 5G protocol stack is more complicated than 4G. To be honest, I don't think I can understand the 38.xxx spec without reading this book / Bible.
