I think this is a great resource for parents and kids to talk about body image. It has a great message and the questions posed by the mother in the book can help promote discussions between parents and their kids. It seems to be made well, which will last through multiple children and discussions.

I am so excited about a book for children that educates about the harmful messages from the media. I haven't read the whole book yet but will be ordering it for my daughter. Regardless of how we look, or how we perceive ourselves, we need to teach our children that they can feel good about their bodies and themselves because they are much more than their 'appearance.' Confidence doesn't come from the outside, it comes from the inside--loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, and rejecting what the media deems to be 'beautiful.' We are bombarded with messages from ads, TV, social media all telling us that we aren't good enough, and that to be happy with ourselves we need to look a certain way. I am excited that this book will open the door to these important conversations.

Parents need to let their kids know that they are beautiful just the way they are. Definitely would recommend!

I thought this was an insightful book about how to teach young girls about body image. But I also felt that it was applicable to girls of all ages because it is an issue that we face every day, the issue of accepting ourselves the way we are and believing that we are beautiful without having to change anything. I especially liked how it gave suggestions of questions and activities that you could do with your daughter/niece/grand-daughter to help them understand how to accept and love who they really are and to not love the idea of what others want them to be.

Content is good, but publication quality is VERY poor. In fact, it looks like it was printed on a dot matrix printer with low quality paper. To add insult to injury, they even raised the price by 50% compared to previous versions, which were hard bound and professionally printed on good quality paper. Huge step down.

Just as the authors previous book "3G Evolution - HSPA and LTE for Mobile Broadband" is the Bible for 4G, this new book is the Bible for 5G. I was waiting for this book for long time, and it did not disappointed me once I received it and read through. 5G protocol stack is more complicated than 4G. To be honest, I don't think I can understand the 38.xxx spec without reading this book / Bible.

Awesome! I'm just now reading these Mangas after loving the movie for many years. I like having a better understanding of what was going on with the gangs and military and such, the stuff the movie kinda just hints at. Like, there's all this civil unrest but you don't know why. Well, read these and it'll explain everything and with such amazing art.Akira was my 1st introduction into Japanese cartoons during the early 90's and it's awesome coming back to that.

Vol. 3 is virtually a non-stop sequence of kidnappings, pursuits, comings and goings, including caretaker robots, soldiers, cars and even a tank. Regarding the latter, we get some occasional humorous gags involving Kaneda. Here he finally comes alive as a clumsy yet hard-headed anti-hero of sorts. His down-to-earth, naughty but ultimately honest nature is depicted in great detail along the volume, adding up to what we had already seen in volumes 1 and 2. We also get to see more of Chiyoko, a character who appeared in the previous volume and who becomes more and more relevant as the story progresses. Kei also gets rounded up as an atypical heroine ('anti-heroine', maybe?), thus straying off from the 'damsel-in-distress' female character so common in shounen manga and American comic-books alike. Three characters make a brief yet crucial appearance in this volume: Sakaki, Miki and Mozu (a bunch of girls trained by Lady Miyako to develop a small amount of psychic power). Sakaki in particular plays an important role throughout the volume, right until its conclusion. But the character that really shines in this part of Otomo's long work is Nezu, the leader of the Kohmin political party, who is constantly plotting against the Colonel, the government, Lady Miyako, and practically everyone, and who is obsessed with gaining power by using Akira as a weapon.Storywise, the world of motorbikes and teenager gangs has disappeared completely, which means we will have no Kaisuke, no Joker, no Clowns... The tone for most of the volume is, admittedly, a bit lighter than the oppressive atmosphere we encountered in the previous volume, making it look more like an action/gangsters/conspiracy story than a proper futuristic cyberpunk one. Paradoxically, instead of focusing on troublesome teenager angst and gang fights the plot seems to deal with more adult-oriented themes than those displayed in volume 1, thus diversifying the change of direction that had already started in volume 2. This, however, isn't distracting in the least, and I believe Otomo manages to develop this segment of his masterpiece with just as much brilliancy as he did with the impressive sewers/laboratory/secret base sequences in volume 2. The detail in the depiction of each panel in nothing short of amazing. Indoors or outdoors, every ambiance is rendered with a rarely-seen accuracy: we get to see the inside of Chiyoko's and Kei's small shelter, Nezu's grand mansion, government offices, or even the inside of a luxury boat. Everything exhales a feeling of verisimilitude that pushes you into the story and makes the reading flow easily.The inking is brilliant, and the handling of screentones is really solid too. The black and white printing is excellent in this edition, even though the paper could certainly be better--probably a glossy paper would work wonders with this kind of printing. Technically speaking, Kodansha Comics' edition of Akira is far superior than the former coloured edition by Epic Comics (which, by the way, is just terribly hand-coloured in the part where Kei, Chiyoko and Kaneda are held in the boat). A non-flipped edition would also probably be better, even though it might be harder to read for a western reader. At any rate, it should be black and white.In summary, this is a very worthy purchase: the story has a more down-to-earth tone, there are no motorbikes, gang fights, psychic fights or supernatural elements, yet it countermeasures the lack of those elements with a non-stop action flow, and the depiction of very diverse environments and surroundings is simply masterful. Although this volume does not end in as strong a cliffhanger as the one in volume 2, its ending just makes the term 'epic' sound like an understatement, and will certainly leave you dumbstruck. Highly recommended.

Akira still stands head and shoulders above the competition. The pivotal and compelling stories of a group of low-life juvenile friends who find their fast-riding life style come into a literal collision with destiny. Gorgeous as it is grandiose Akira is painstakingly detailed and remains one of the only graphic novels that can truly be described as "a labor of love". If you are a fan of graphic novels that somehow missed this one, you need to read it. Now. For fans of the film who don't normally read comics, the same applies. There really is nothing else like it, this work needs to be experienced and appreciated for what it is: A stunning work of art.

I'm not even sure what to say about this... It's still complete insanity. Everyone is fighting everyone. I'm not sure if anyone knows whose side they're on. Tetsuo is completely bonkers, Kaneda is back and apparently Kei is a powerful medium. The power is overwhelming Tetsuo, and still mostly nothing from Akira. I'm seriously starting to wonder if he's actually a threat. One more to go and I guess I'll find out.

First off, Akira was one of the first few animes I've ever watched (Hokuto no Ken being one of my top tier favorites) and it's without a doubt a true classic. Secondly, I knew the manga would show at the minimum 50% more than what the original video animation showed and I was VERY satisfied with the original story development and conclusion. Finally, I bought all 6 volumes and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made online. I highly recommended that you own this very unique and awesome manga collection that's easily a top 10 of all time in my opinion. And also, in my opinion, nothing beats Berserk as far as Seinen manga is concerned ;).

There is absolutely no formatting on all. Each page says "On War.txt" and is obviously just a printed text document in Courier New font. This is embarrassing. DO NOT BUY THIS EDITION.

Colonel J.J. Graham's translation of the original work is adequate. However, Graham's edition only contains the first four books of the work. If you are looking for the complete works I recommend Carl von Clausewitz, On War, eds. and trans. Michael Howard and Peter Paret (Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press, 1984), particularly if you are using this book for your scholarly or research work. This recommended edition will provide far more guidance than Graham did on the contents by the three translators, includes some of the updates, and its organization is better. I did not realize that I did not have the complete works until two classmates referenced chapters that I could not find in this edition. Further, research revealed this to be an incomplete work. The absence of a conclusion and the abrupt end was a little strange to me but now makes sense.

Book arrived today and is clearly just a computer text file printed and bound by a self-publishing house. The header is even printed as "On war.txt". No attempt has been made to do any formatting or copy editing. The book is printed in that ugly, difficult to read font which comes as a default on most basic text editors. Needless to say the page formatting and spacing is atrocious. Actually, I can't think of a way this sorry excuse for a "publication" was not made as cheaply and carelessly as possible. Amazon should be ashamed to have produced this and can expect a complaint. This is product is a shameful ripoff and I want my money back.

The book I got only has Book I-IV. It's supposed to be through to Book VIII, where is the second half?? Also the table of contents shows Book IV ending on page 308...however this entire book only has 161 pages. So something is off here. The table of contents does not match the rest of the book and it seems I was shorted half of the book.

Warfare is a complex matter, going from the daily routine of the soldier up to the highest reaches of government. Its influence permeates entire societies and has always been a factor shaping the destiny of nations. Not being a military man, I nonetheless found it fascinating and enlightening how Clausewitz tried to cut through the complexity and penetrate to the heart of the matter.His central point is that war is an instrument of policy. As a result, there is no purely military problem. The commander needs to understand the political goals and act accordingly. When the process fails it's because the policy itself was bad, not because of politicians interfering in "purely military matters".It can get a bit humorous when Clausewitz talks about armchair generals. He dismisses them as useless pedants, deriding them for coming up with an excess of useless rules and concocting impractical schemes. Clausewitz points out that there is a lot of "friction" in war, when issuing orders and moving men around, that non-soldiers seldom appreciate. More to the point, he emphasizes the role of the commander's judgment in dealing with the specifics of a situation.I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone interested in military matters. With that said, don't dive into it blindly. Clausewitz draws heavily on examples from the campaigns of Frederick the Great and Napoleon. Familiarize yourself with the Seven Years' War and the Napoleonic Wars before picking this up. A brief overview of the wars between the Grand Alliance and Louis XIV wouldn't hurt either.

This is a total rip off. It's essentially a printed Windows text file with a cheap book cover. I should have looked at the reviews before buying but for $5 I was pretty indiscriminate. I'll be a lot more cautious in the future for sure. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Please avoid this edition of On War.I thought it was a little strange when I opened it and found it was printed in that same small-print Courier font as say a text file prints in.Then I looked at the top, and each page had a heading of "On War.txt"This edition of this book is literally a text file of On War dumped to a cheap printer, with no formatting, no editing, and it being painfully obvious that they didn't review it at all before hitting print.I'm now looking for a better edition to replace this one.

There is so much going on in this book. The Rag team are trying to outwit Katherine which is proving to be a mammoth task. Running parallel to that thread are the blossoming relationships between the four couples. There is a lot of teenage angst, self discovery and support within this group of magical. Levi the dictator is doing his best to hinder any progress they try to make and his hatred of Harley has blinded him to her potential of being able to take on Katherine as she is the only one who has the power to do it. This series is a entertaining and their are nuances of Harry Potter in these chapters. The quest to seek retribution and save the world may be Harley's undoing, only time will tell.

If you’ve enjoyed the previous stories in this series, you will likely enjoy this too. Is the writing perfect? No, it’s far from it. But I nevertheless find myself sucked into this series without being able to put the books down, and this newest edition is no different. This is probably my favorite of the bunch, perhaps because of Harley’s vulnerabilities, or perhaps because this is the first time in the series I’ve actually enjoyed when the author switches to another character’s perspective. In this book, Harley races against the clock to try to safely deal with her suppressor slowly breaking. I do think that sometimes, some of the things Harley (or the other characters) are up against rectify themselves too easily, which feels unrealistic and a bit of a cop out, but I read the book in a day and ended with a longing to read more. I truly cannot wait for the next installment.

This was so incredibly intense! The visuals and emotions kept me gripping my kindle. I was so afraid it would end that I kept checking to make sure I still had more to read, just in case. Bella Forrest did not disappoint!!! I so desperately wished I could jump right inside this book to see what they see and experience everything with them. You aren't going to be able to put this down once you start!

So I am 5 books in and I am going to keep reading! Strong "world building" in that it takes place in the real world, but with just something a little extra like popping through portals and quick visits to different "worlds" but mostly in places you would recognize like San Diego, New Orleans, or Paris. Harley is really coming into her powers and I want to see where it goes - so book 6 is definitely on my list! One bonus is that this is really an adventure for Harley and her friends, it isn't just a romance where the "action" is miscommunication - oh no - this is exciting, fun characters and a few twist and turns to keep it interesting (and of course some romance). Much better to read this series in order - make sure to get Harley Merlin and the Secret Coven to get started.

I consider these books an "adult fairy tale". I bought and read the first one. I immediately bought the second, the third and so on. I am now waiting for number 6 to be loaded on my kindle. They may be written for"young readers", but I'm past 70 and am enjoying them immensely! Try them you'll like them!!!

I can’t believe Finch is coming back into the mix! This is so crazy! Super sad about Price! Wish he could’ve had a bigger role. Seemed like a super cool guy! Ugh! The wait for the next book is going to be unbearable! Well done for the millionth time Bella! Well done!P.S. YAY! For Harley and Wade!!!

I am hooked on this series. Bella Forrest please keep writing these. I'm hoping for at least 8 books. These books catch you and yes they aren't perfect. They definitely needed a couple more edits but once you get past that trust me it'll be worth it. <3
