Great book for the very basics of ACLS. Not for first timers. If you have studies the AHA ACLS provider manual already, then this is a good quick review, no fluff, no repetition, and a much easier interface than the ebook from AHA. Just be aware that Vasopressin is mentioned as an alternative to Epi, but Vasopressin has been dropped from the very latest algorithm. Also, the quiz at the back of the book has a couple of errors, questions 9 and 19 don't make sense. As long as you know about these two little issues, I fully recommend the book for ACLS review. Also, the ebook was free on Kindle--great!
Was hesitant at first to purchase due to some negative reviews but took the chance considering they said to have updated the product. Pleasantly surprised with the updates and the ways they addressed the issues others were facing. Bottom line, it is an excellently reformatted edition. If the information was accurate I would give it five stars as a concise review. Luckily for me it was a review and the errors evident. For someone new the mistakes could result in medical errors or at the very least not passing the test.
Several errors, some not critical (tachycardia algorithm says bradycardia in the body of the text) and some critical ( dose of epinephrine varies in 3 places). Graphics are hard to read. Final quiz has errors (e.g. question 9). Lidocaine is never mentioned in the text, but comes up in the quiz.In the end, just buy the ACLS text from AHA if you want the final word.
Typical study guide for refreshing up on ACLS.
It has review questions, flow charts, and condensed version of ACLS. It's great if you are renewing your ACLS license.
Bought the online e book for $40.+ from AHA. It would not download or let me access it. Called help line but no IT avail. to fix problem on weekend, only a nurse who apologized. This ebook save me and it was free!
