If you love dogs you can't not like this book. It is short but it gives a little insight into the relationship between a man and his sled dog(s). I enjoyed the bits of information about the lifestyles of the dogs and, albeit limited information, it helped me understand the reason for chaining the dogs, which I have always been bothered with. I liked the admittance of our human limitations and the lessons learned by our canine companions.

Get Winterdance, Woodsong, My life in Dog years, and this one to start. I love his true-life first-person writing. He is one of my favorites. I wish he would do more true-life first person about his life with his dogs--ESPECIALLY Cookie and how he came to acquire her, make her well, and into the best lead dog he ever had....MORE MORE MORE Gary Paulson PLEASE!! PLEEEEEZE!

I had a very good time reading through the Winterdance, that is an exciting, funny and emotional account of the author's experience in the Iditarod. This short book for me was a welcomed extension to learn more about his relationship with the dogs and about the post Iditarod life of his exceptional leading dog and friend, Cookie. Recommended for anyone else that found admiration in both Cookie and the Gary and their relationship.

Nolo Press has the best, most informative books. Had to purchase this when a tenant abandoned the house and left most of their furniture and belongings behind. It took me through each step in the eviction process and notifying them to come get their things and when I could dispose of them.

All the forms you need for taking care of the unpleasant situation that made you look this up.

Absolutely necessary for CA Landlords. The companion book on Landlords Law Book: Rights & Responsibilities is great, too. I had to refer to it many times for more detail. If you are a landlord in CA who isn't using an attorney, get both!

The utility of this book is up for debate I would say. I just took my GMAT today and while this book was ultimately helpful for some questions I found that I was not 'stumped' by the OG's answer explanations very often. I had to turn to this book probably 5-10 times because of questions whose answers just didn't make sense. If you are using Manhattan GMAT's full strategy guides, this book is helpful because it approaches the questions from the MGMAT perspective (i.e. sometimes the OG will answer questions in a different style from what MGMAT taught you -- it was helpful those few times to turn to this book and ask "how would you solve it MGMAT?"). A different perspective does not hurt!

The book is another high quality product from Manhattan GMAT. The reason for an Official Guide Companion is that many ofus may use OG 12 as the GMAT Bible but struggle with some of the questions/explanations. This book does 2 main things: 1)Provides more extensive and clearer explanations to quantitative questions based on the input from MGMAT students and 2)Shows alternative ways to solve problems, often pointing out shortcuts.Highlights: * GREAT: Alternative methods of solution (shortcut ideas) for the questions, esp helpful for the DS questions * GREAT: Difficulty level identified for every question - apparently the OG 12 is not truly organized by difficulty, which many of us had a suspicion about. Knowing difficulty allows you to understand while level you are at. * GOOD: Expanded and more detailed explanations to the OG 12 math questions * BAD: No Verbal question coverage (should really be called Quant Companion)REMEMBER: Always use a timer for your practice; even a first-grader can figure out how to solve a question in an hour.BOTTOM LINE: If you struggle with Math from the Official Guide, then definitely get this book - You'll like the explanations. In this case, you may also want to pick up Foundations of GMAT Math too.If you are OK with math, you may not get as much from it since it is only designed for the Official Guide and is NOT a Guide/Strategy book. This was the most useful product I used during my GMAT prep once I had gone through all of the MGMAT books. This book gets little mention on MBA sites but it is invaluable as it provides different ways to solve the OG than just the OG approach and you can figure out which method is more intuitive. I was able to hit well above that 700 mark thankfully and made it into a top 15 business school.

I had purchased the Manhattan program of books for the GMAT and then I decided to buy this book to help with the OG questions and I can tell you, this book is extremely useful. The OG is weak in it's explanations but this book makes up for all of it's shortcomings. If you are really trying to score well on the GMAT, this book is a must have.

This book is a must if you're doing practice questions from the Official Guide while simultaneously studying the Manhattan GMAT quantitative strategy guides. This book provides explanations to the OG problems using the Manhattan GMAT approach from the strategy guides. These explanations helped me understand some of the tougher problems way better than the god-awful explanations in the OG. Seriously, the explanations in the OG are nothing short of terrible and vague at best. This book will eliminate the need for you to frustrate yourself trying to understand the OG's explanations.

You HAVE to buy this as a supplement to the OG book. I don't know if they have a 13th Ed. yet for the new one, but this one was AMAZING for the 12th Ed. The solutions are WAY better explained and the shortcuts sometimes faster. Sure you could just google all the problems online, but who has time for that if you are studying without a laptop?Get this book!

Intuitive solutions, with alternative methods provided where needed. Each question is rated according to its difficulty level. Further access to online video explanations for many of the more difficult explanations is provided. I wish Manhattan had a companion for the official quantitative review guide as well.

If you're an advisor, whether you need a push or not, and regardless if you're new to the business or an old hand, this book is for you and a don't miss. Mullen does a nice job describing what he sees as important executables - and should as he was in the industry for many years as a branch manager. The scripts are well done, but of course you'll want to tailor them to your style. He's a huge advocate of doing/following/mimicking the success of million-dollar producers and follows this theme throughout the book in great detail.This is book is third in line of important books to read if you're an advisor and is only behind Nick Murray's "Game of Numbers" and "Behavioral Investment Counseling", but it's a book that should add value to your practice. Mullen also authored "The Million Dollar Financial Advisor" but it simply isn't near as good as this book and would be much further down my list of books in this category.

I was actually reluctant to purchase this book because of all of the great reviews. I thought they had to be given something in return for a favorable review. But this book IS THE REAL DEAL! I purchased it (kindle version to receive quicker) because I need a business plan to present to prospective financial brokerage firms....and I have had writers block for two months. I have received some good information from a few advisors that I know who are now 20 years in the business and independent, and though their advice was helpful,they didn't give me anything concrete to put in a plan.Bottom line is this. If I would have had a plan like this 12 years ago when I started real estate, it would have been game over by now. If you want to write a business plan that you can implement and be successful with, buy this book right now.I can't say enough good things about this book. The only thing though, for you and I, is that once this plan is complete, work our fricken tails off.Buy this, create your own plan and follow it.I can't believe this author doesn't have a big online presence or following.Most of this information applies to other service industries as well.Good luck and much success to you.

I like the simple and practical format is the book on a complex and legally complex industry with non legalese language but ver practical advise and strategy.I recommend the book to anyone considering staring a financial advisor business or marketing related profession.I have it the 4 star rating based on the valuable and simple way of teaching the subject.

Just know you need to a Series 7, 63 & 65 or 7 & 66 to use the strategy in this book to build your business. I mention this because some places try not to sponsor for a 65 or 66.

My favorite chapters were the first (Overview) and the third (The numbers you need to succeed).The Overview basically tells you what to expect, explaining that as a new adviser 70% of a 10 hour day should be spent on marketing. Also provides a break down for your weekly marketing goals, time commitment, and target markets.The Numbers chapter breaks down how many appointments you must set weekly, how much assets you must get under management on a monthly basis, the minimum qualified prospects to keep, and a specific road map to growing your business to a million dollars.The book also contains marking plans, scrips to help you get started and much more. This is a great book for any new adviser that is serious about growing their business to a million dollar practice!

Came on time and is attractive. The maps themselves are interesting. There is more than enough room in the box for each day to write appointments. As a general matter, the British Museum has a lot of interesting items and the web site is worth checking out.

British Library Map Calender had good quality map picutres. Better then some othermap Calenders. I will add the map calender to my map collections at end of 2014.The Calender map did arrive in the mail on time and in very good condition.

I bought this calendar for my father, who loves ancient maps. I have it on good authority (from him), that the maps are amazing , the detail fantastic, and all in all, a gorgeous calendar

The calendar was damaged when it was delivered. The low half of the corner was wet, dark and wrinkled with dirty water and dust due to the ripped and damped package. It was supposed to be a gift but It could not be given because of the damage.

Instead of a blast of arrogant judgmentalism, Steve responded like a Christian should—with grace and evidence. What has happened since that time is told in this excellent new book. Limbaugh artfully tells his journey from skepticism about Christ to skepticism about skepticism and ultimately to trust in Christ.David is a lawyer, but he doesn’t write like a lawyer. While he’s intellectually precise, he writes as if he’s sitting across the table from you, anticipating your questions and objections. This is rare for a book of Christian evidences (often called Christian apologetics). Such books often read like technical manuals, but not Jesus on Trial. Limbaugh not only does a masterful job of highlighting the abundant evidence that supports Christianity, his insights into what the scriptures actually say will have you marveling at the tapestry of scripture and the Savior who wove it.From the very beginning, Limbaugh bares his soul, holding nothing back about how his previous doubts were shielded by an embarrassing lack of knowledge. He writes, “I knew, after all, that I hadn’t really given the Bible itself a hearing, much less a fair one. To my surprise— and this is embarrassing to admit—Steve showed me how verses of Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, were tied to others in content and theme with remarkable frequency. Amazingly, I had never looked at a reference Bible before, and I was blown away. My ignorance was on display, but Steve wasn’t remotely judgmental— to help me learn more, he even gave me that Bible. I was genuinely intrigued to discover that the Bible was not simply a mishmash of stories, allegories, alleged historical events, and moral lessons. There was obviously a pattern here, and for the first time in my life the Bible appeared to me to be thematically integrated. The scales on my eyes started peeling away.”His two chapters called “Aha Moments” reveal the numerous tipping points in Limbaugh’s journey where scale after scale fell away—tipping points that no honest seeker of truth can ignore. Of course, as Limbaugh admits, many who are not interested in truth, or have their own agenda, ignore or remake Christ in their own image.He writes, “We must not casually remake Jesus in the image in which we prefer to see Him or which conforms to the popular culture’s misperceptions about Him. Our politically correct culture may, presumptuously, choose to recast Jesus as indifferent to sin and saccharine sweet, no matter the circumstances, but this Jesus is God, and God cannot look upon sin. What do these revisionists make of the Jesus Who made a whip of cords and drove the moneychangers out of the Temple (John 2: 15)? … What do the revisionists say about the Jesus Whom Paul describes as “revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus ” (2 Thess. 1: 7– 8)? What of the difficult moral standard Jesus laid down in the Sermon on the Mount? Did He show indifference to sin there?” Limbaugh rightfully concludes: “This idea that Jesus is meek, mild, indifferent, and non-judgmental is the stuff of pure myth.”In addition to correcting the culture’s emasculated view of Christ, Limbaugh has two fantastic chapters tackling the paradoxes of Christianity. These include: God’s plan of salvation, including the relationship between grace and works; the acknowledgement that we are sinful yet commanded to be perfect; the Trinity, that God is one in essence yet three in persons; that Jesus has two natures, human and divine; that you must give up your life to find it; that Christians are strong when they are weak; that God is sovereign yet humans have free will; that God knows all and is unchangeable, yet we are to pray; that the Bible is inspired yet written by men; and many others. The insights Limbaugh brings to these paradoxes are some of his own, and the best nuggets mined from Christian scholarship that I doubt you’ll find in one place anywhere else.Limbaugh devotes several chapters to the evidence for the Bible, including its unity and reliability as evidenced through history, archaeology, prophecy and science. He debunks several myths and misunderstandings along the way, and then saves his final chapter for what many think is the atheist’s trump card against God: Evil.Many years ago David provided me an “Aha Moment” during one of our very many theological discussions. He said, “Evil really bothers me, but only Christianity has a sensible answer to it.” There’s no question he’s correct. We wouldn’t even know what evil was unless good existed, and real objective good could only exist if God exists. As David explains, evil turns out to be a backhanded argument for God. In fact, evil is the very reason God entered human history in the person of Christ. Only his sacrifice can solve the evil in my heart and yours.David puts it this way: “Don’t be offended by the notion that you must have saving faith in Christ. Don’t assume that God is making you jump through unnecessary hoops. He is the One Who suffered for you. He did this so that you could live. He doesn’t ask you to believe because He is on a divine ego trip, but because He loves you and wants you to latch on to Him in order to be saved from your sins.”I just can’t recommend Jesus on Trial highly enough. Every thinking person should investigate the claims of Christ, who is unarguably the most influential human being to ever walk the earth. If his claims are true (and Limbaugh shows they are), then we won’t be putting him on trial—he will be putting each of us on trial. Only Christ can secure you a favorable verdict.

As a former atheist for over 25 years, and a man of science with evidence-based truth seeking mindset, I found my way back to Christianity through scientific evidence, and historical and archeological evidence to the credibility of the biblical accounts. When I read the book "Jesus on Trial" by David Limbaugh, it brought me back to my own journey to faith in such a striking way that I said to myself "I could have written this book". How amazing the Lord works in the lives of people who really seek His truths. I congratulate Mr. Limbaugh for a well written thesis in defense of the Christian faith. The book was clear with convincing arguments, evidence-based and easy to understand by all readers. I highly recommend it to all who care about the truth.

David Limbaugh gives many reasons for his faith and why you should have that faith too. It is like a Bible Study. He gives many texts to support His beliefs. Overall I find him to be true and faithful to the Bible. His faith is based on the evidence that he has studied and found to be true. He is a lawyer and uses his lawyer skills to research and prove facts and that is one of the reasons that this book is more a statement of facts to compel one to believe.

In Jesus On Trial, David Limbaugh presents the origins of Christianity, as documented in the Bible, with a logical progression that addresses common doubts and misconceptions. Through thoughtful presentation targeting both unbelievers and Christians harboring unanswered questions, Mr. Limbaugh offers a healthy dose of historical enlightenment along with numerous examples from esteemed apologetics and evangelists. His dexterity in dissecting numerous Bible intricacies and paradoxes with logic and probative research reflects his own doubts and questions over the years. Evidentiary analysis is admirably thorough, yet the heft of evidence never impedes a reader's progress; all referenced footnotes are packaged in the back of the book as fifty pages of Notes---convenient for later study.As someone raised without religion, only to find it in middle-age, I was quite surprised to learn the numerous facts that support the veracity of the Bible, its writers, and Christ Himself; these facts rooted in archaeology, science and the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies as written in the New Testament. For a once-professed agnostic and skeptic as myself, Mr. Limbaugh wisely includes the most popular mainstream arguments against God and all things supernatural by using our own analytical styles to skillfully refute these positions---sometimes humorously so, as when he discusses Darwinism and the Big Bang Theory.Jesus On Trial presented to me a missing link toward better understanding Jesus Christ, his relationship to God, and how the Old and New Testaments seemingly support each other. By showing the deeply personal nature of God's spirit early on, Mr. Limbaugh goes to the heart of Christian beliefs with an intimacy and sensitivity that is often attempted in Church sermons but is difficult to achieve in that short a time span. I'm now inclined to read the Bible in its entirety in order to see for myself the wisdom that it holds, as well as how it unfolds. This book will be nearby, to be used as a reference guide.While I rarely dog-ear pages of a brand new hardcover, I couldn't resist doing so with this book because so many passages resonated so deeply---they were "Aha!" moments, as some chapters are aptly named. One, in particular, explained a question I and many grapple with: the paradox of why, when we strive so hard, and usually unsuccessfully, to live without sin, God ultimately accepts us anyway, based on our pure faith in Him. The answer is beautiful, in my view: when we wear the veil of Christ, who died for our sins, God sees this veil, which reflects His Son, Jesus. At that point, what imperfections lie underneath will be overlooked.One of the most important chapters discusses Truths, Miracles and the Resurrection of Christ. Mr. Limbaugh describes the three states of thought throughout history: premodernism, modernism and postmodernism. The indisputable shift toward secularization parallels the postmodernist agenda, which conveniently excludes scientific and archaeological facts that support Christianity, and the Bible as the living word of God. The absence of such teachings in schools and universities is troubling because all generations deserve to know them.The breadth of historical references and philosophical analyses make Jesus On Trial relevant reading for anyone, especially those troubled by the erosion of societal values. While such a vast study in human and theological history is not necessarily light reading, it's fascinating and mentally quite nourishing. It's to be expected that contemplating the history of mankind, our current condition, and our future destiny would be impossible to mull over and digest in superficial snippets or sound bytes.The powerful truths presented by Mr. Limbaugh are packaged and preserved with great deliberation and deserve to be shared and discussed. There's no good reason to ignore well-documented evidence supporting Christianity, except to perpetuate the rewriting of history in an attempt to dilute faith. As Mr. Limbaugh alludes, if one doesn't believe, what is one afraid of by discussing faith? Truth is inconvenient only for those who wish to remain close-minded. That could only preclude a dangerous prophecy for the human race. As he states in his Conclusion, there's no downside in learning about the Bible; you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I think all of David Limbaugh book are very well written. I have learned a lot from his writings. He is writing for a Protestant audience. I think David is as impartial as he could be for the general reader. I don't think his writing is as thorough or comprehensive as some of the books I have read on the same subject. I still give it 5 stares and if he writes more books I will buy them. Â
