As an ignorant of this subject I was looking for a book that could explain in plain English what is all about FTA. This book fulfilled my expectations and convinced me to join into this hobbie.Thank you Dennis!

Only a few chapters directly addressed FTA Satellite Operation. The rest of the book talked about surface TV, and Wifi which is well covered in the popular literature. The title is a misleading in that FTA was not covered in most of the book.

There was a lot of introductory tech material on tools, cables, tv's etc. but only two chapters on what I bought the book for. I skimmed all but the receiver discussion and still felt lost shopping for one. I put up my own BUD and did analog C-band in the 90's but it is all quite different now.

This book has more than just satellite info, it talks about all FTA possibilities. I just wish they did more diagrams when talking about theory.

The book is well written. I was hoping for info as to satelite TV equipment vendors but did not find much in the book. To bad the authors web site is not operating.

Disappointing I was looking for a way to get the cable type channels individually

I have long been a fan of Penn & Teller. I have also read all the books that both have written. This book is one for the book. I too got too fat as the years went by. Half-hearted attempts to loose the weight were compete failures. I figured that in Penn could do it, so could I. Yes, doing exactly, almost, what Penn did, I lost fifty-two pounds. Forty of that was in three months. I feel great. Thank you, Penn.

I downloaded the Kindle version and have read nearly half of it. I found it very interesting because I am on the same plant based program that Penn lost his weight on. I did not start out with only potatoes for the first 2 weeks but do eat plant based. I have lost 38 Lbs in 40 days it was almost effortless and I have lost at the same rate as Penn....... .09 of a pound a day!!! If you love beans whole grain pasta potatoes and vegetables/fruit this is the way to go. No counting calories even no exercise if you prefer. Penn recommends exercise after you get to decent weight and I have to agree. It will be easier on your cardiovascular system and joints especially if you have a lot to lose....It took me nearly 59 years to figure this out ! Read Dr. McDougils Starch Solution book if you want to get started.

It’s Penn Jillette again, so you think – more debunking of fraudulent magic? Questioning God, perhaps? But no. This is a 300 page memoir of dieting. Took me by surprise. I would not have read it had I known. But Jillette pulls it off by simply being Penn Jillette. He is loud, obnoxious, rambunctious, sarcastic and he swears way too much for it to have any impact at all. But he’s entertaining, self-deprecating, highly opinionated, and funny. So it works. Much better than run of the mill diet books.Like most Americans, as he got older, Jillette got heavier. He noticed that while chocolate cake was a treat his mother made a few times a year, it was now available daily, if not hourly. There is junk food everywhere – at meetings, in the green room, backstage, and he ate basically all day long. He was sluggish, out of breath, and in denial. And he was on blood pressure meds and other joys. And this is someone who has never smoked, drank or taken recreational drugs. By losing a hundred pounds, he found he could give up the meds. He could taste tastes better and he lost his cravings for doughnuts and other such staples of SAD – the Standard American Diet. And with this book he has become an evangelist for it.To the the point of being aggravating. It’s a 300 page testimonial to Ray Cronise, who designed his program, and who is himself now leveraging off helping Penn Jillette lose that hundred pounds. It’s a multipronged multimedia marketing campaign, and that lessens the love, at least for me. For the millions of the overweight and obese, I hope it is inspirational.The book desperately needs editing. It is terribly repetitive. Jillette has no problem saying the same thing eight or ten times. It is possibly the longest diet memoir in history. It’s almost a page a day of his diet. But it’s from the heart, and it’s the usual honest, forthright and fearless Penn Jillette, so there’s little point going on about it.The message is terrific. Eat better and you will crave better foods. It’s a virtuous circle. You lose the extra weight, you feel more energetic, and your body thanks you by making life easier. Penn Gillette has always come across to me as a typical loudmouth annoying libertarian know-it-all. That said, I really love his filth-infested writing style and the honesty and humility he shares as he went through this transformation. It's not an airy-fairy book full of impossible OCD food weighing requirements, it's practical enough to point you in the right direction to gird your cajones and start making habit changes and awareness in the right areas to start turning the ship around. By the end of the book I realized that I went through the diet journey with him but the details of exactly what he did were actually missing or mostly obfuscated between pages of swearing and personal asides. After failing to try rereading and figuring out his exact process, I googled up some people better at extracting out some of the key elements of the diet after doing a couple weeks of potatoes. Still, looks like many details were left out to leave an opening for his guru "Cray-Ray" to sell another book containing clearer guidance.Personally I've knocked my weight from the 230s to the lower 2-teens so far. I'm in less of a rush to lose it than Penn was, but definitely concerned about the downside of where my weight had crept up to. Probably the key to Penn's approach for me is to get the "shame" part off the table. Most dieting plans are painfully focusing on how terrible you are for having weight and that if you ever have another french fry after starting the plan you will completely fail, those black-and-white games never worked for me. Penn gave me hope that there were some "gray ways" to lose and maintain weight, and down the road I can even have a "rare and appropriate" steak and/or fries and could still maintain my target weight.Thanks to this guy, I'm eating and enjoying- maybe even craving healthy foods that I used to avoid like the plague. I haven't gone Shiite on the rules, so my weight loss isn't as dramatic as Penn's for now. But it feels damn good to walk and make love a little more enthusiastically, to push away food when I'm aware I'm full rather than always finish the plate, and find massive enjoyment in a simple bowl of greens and some Apple cider vinegar rather than being 5 tablespoons of fatty dressing every time.If you hate diet books, you might find some inspiration and angles you hadn't considered in this cuss-laden diary of a madman. And as much as I doubted, once I tried it to prove him wrong- the scale and my taste buds actually proved him accurate.Thanks Penn, haven't seen you live since the '80s but glad you're alive now to help me become more alive.

Hands down best book money can buy. I was trying to get a deal for 4 months. I switched to the techniques taught in the book and closed my first deal 3 weeks later. No bullshit.I paid 1k last May for a shitty 3 day seminar and it didn't teach me as much as that book did.People are charging thousands of dollars on courses and training for the same information you get in that book for 21 bucks.It's a no brainer. Easy read too. Finished the book in two days. And I still apply the same principles over and over. Now I have buyers that I didn't even reach out to calling me asking me out for coffee!

This is the first volume of multi-volume set. So, it's not really complete. But for what you get, it's very informative.I just wished I had known that it was just one volume of a three volume set. I might have waited 'til it was complete before buying. That was the reason for the three stars.

I bought this book to see what others say about how to do wholesaling. The book did point out many points that are important HOWEVER many important points are missed especially the calculation.THAT is super critical when wholesaling. I receive many so called DEALS from wholesalers that have no clue at all how to determine if a deal is a true deal. Everything mentioned in the book is good and some are things are very important BUT doing the numbers is really critical and it was not mentioned here. Wholesaling is NOT that difficult. It is the simplest way to make money in RE. There is no need really for a book 2 or 3. One book would be fine IF this book explained more the numbers involved since that is what is presented to the end buyer. My 2 cents.

wow! I am SO HAPPY I came across this book. Inspirational, Educational, Easy to Read, Detailed, To the Point. This helped me feel more than comfortable starting my business as a wholesaler. It provides scripts of what to say to potential buyers/sellers/title companies, and gives you step by step instructions on how to move forward successfully. I HIGHLY, highly recommend!

I took some courses on wholesaling but didn’t really understand the whole process until I’ve read this book! Now I already have 2 properties under contract and some buyers in place to market to!

After reading numerous books that claim to give you step-by-step instructions on wholesaling I was honestly a little hesitant to purchase this book.It is a very thin book, and once I received it I was like “What the hell is this?!” “How can I learn anything from this little ass book?!” In the beginning with the storytelling and the motivational passages I was thinking “Here we go again” and was about to throw the book in the corner. Yea I know, you have to learn a bit about the author, but MANY books about real estate are nothing but motivational hoopla and a waste of money. But I kept reading and am happy that I did so!Great content, easy to follow, and yes - if you can’t wholesale after reading that book just keep your day job! In the case at hand, this reviewer believes that so many reviews, with such positive feedback, is testament to the quality of the original content as well as to the ongoing (and arguably increasing) relevancy of the material. Services marketing is the subject of this masterwork, and while subtitles for other books can be misleading at times, "Selling the Invisible" is truly a field guide to modern marketing - in the words of Beckwith a "how-to-think-about book", not necessarily a "how-to" book, "because if you think like these new marketers - if you think more broadly and deeply about services and their prospects - you will figure out dozens of better ways to grow your business". In the forward, Robin Ryan notes "All my book profits are donated to breast cancer research." Wow.I like Ms. Ryan's push to reinvent retirement. Lots of engaging examples but some tough questions and advice too. (Chapter examples - "Don't Become A Failed Retiree!" and "Dealing With Money Issues" ) She includes useful tools/websites as well as some unexpected topics such as my favorite chapter "Education and New Skills (Cheap or Free)". I read this book once quickly to gain an overview before deciding to commit the time to work through the book in the thoughtful manner my retirement deserves.

I've read many books on retirement planning, but so far, this tops them all. The author emphasizes that you need to have a plan and keep "working" with or without pay. She talks about the sometimes difficult transition from full-time work to retirement, which I found particularly useful. What I liked best were all of the examples of what actual people are doing with their time. She also has an exercise designed to help you rank your values for retirement, which I found helpful. Further, it is loaded with current resources. If I had to buy just one retirement lifestyle book, this would be it.

A very good book for folks retired, soon to be retired or most anyone who wishes to gather a great amount of knowledge about the latter chapters of life. I highly recommend this book!

I ordered it for my siblings, even though it could be several years before faced with Retirement, it is important to have a Game Plan.

A wealth of information to help you make the next chapter your best. I would have never gotten this much information from family/friends that are already retired. They are learning from me and I am not even there yet. Must read!

Robin uses her vast experience as a career counselor to help us think and plan for our future. Let's face it, it is hard to project ourselves into our retirement. So much of the emphasis. other books is on the financial aspects of retirement but of equal importance is creating a meaningful and enjoyable future. We need tools to do that and Robin allows us to vicariously experience other retirees' stories. Well written, insightful, and passionate enough to motivate planning for a successful retirement.
